Access to Corvin Castle can be made via DN7 (E15) to the Sântuhalm area, from either the east or west, and then by following DJ 687 to the city of Hunedoara. Corvin Castle, also known as the Castle of Vlad the Impaler, is located in the city of Hunedoara, Hunedoara County, Romania. Built in the 15th century, it is one of the most impressive examples of Gothic architecture in Eastern Europe.

The castle was built by John of Hunedoara (Iancu de Hunedoara), a historical leader of Transylvania, and served as a residence for his family as well as a fortification against Ottoman invasions. It was also an important center of political and cultural power during the Middle Ages.

It is renowned for its impressive architecture, which includes tall towers, thick walls, and a suspended bridge. The interiors are decorated with frescoes, sculptures, and 15th-century furniture. The castle also hosts a museum that presents its history and that of the Corvin family. The final defensive tower, known as the “Ne boisa” Tower (meaning “Do not be afraid”), has remained unchanged since the time of John of Hunedoara, along with the Capistrano Tower, named after John of Capistrano, a famous Franciscan monk—both representing some of the most significant parts of the structure.

Today, Corvin Castle is one of the most important tourist attractions in Romania and is open to visitors, attracting over 200,000 visitors annually. It offers a remarkable opportunity to explore its history and Gothic architecture, which gives it an imposing appearance, as well as to enjoy impressive panoramic views over the city of Hunedoara and the surrounding area.
